John: The Glory of the Word Made Flesh
The Gospel of John powerfully portrays Jesus as the divine Word incarnate, emphasizing His eternal nature and role in creation. This account is filled with profound "I am" statements, revealing Jesus' identity as the Bread of Life, the Light of the World, the Good Shepherd, the Way, the Truth, and the Life. John's narrative highlights Jesus' miracles as signs of His divinity, from turning water into wine to raising Lazarus from the dead.
The gospel underscores the themes of belief, eternal life, and the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. It culminates in Thomas's confession of Jesus as "My Lord and my God" and John's stated purpose: that readers may believe Jesus is the Christ and have life in His name. Throughout, John unveils the glory of Christ, inviting readers to behold the Word made flesh and to embrace the life He offers.
